46th Annual Daytime Emmys coverage: For her work as a hard-as-nails nurse, General Hospital's Patricia Bethune took Emmy gold.

OUTSTANDING GUEST PERFORMER

Patricia Bethune (Mary Pat Ingles, General Hospital)

Patricia Bethune had... an interesting year on General Hospital -- even in General Hospital terms. The actress started off the year as a badass nurse determined to give patient Carly Corinthos a hard time. By year's end, she lost her head.

Literally. Her character was the victim of a serial killer -- the same one that took the life of Younger Actress winner Hayley Erin's character, Kiki.

"Jon Lindstrom you gave me the best last day -- with the exception of cutting off my head," Bethune mused as she took the stage to accept her Emmy. She also thanked her onscreen sparring partnter, Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), for her "generosity."

Unfortunately, the press was only permitted to ask Bethune two questions when she took her victory lap backstage. But in those two questions, we learned a bit about Bethune's post-win state of mind.

The actress expressed a sincere desire to return to General Hospital -- perhaps as the sister of the late Mary Pat who "will seek revenge!"

As for where she'll put her new hardware -- she's got that figured out.

"I have a place in my living room that I think will work, [and] I'm happy to move the TV," she said to laughs.
