In another example of real life being far stranger than anything in daytime, a New York woman is accused of poisoning a woman that looked like her -- and then taking over her life.

Remember that time your favorite character was nearly killed and was placed on life support? And how about when one of their vital organs was offered up to help save the life of another character? Then remember how they showed up very much alive a few years later with not even a minor scar?

Or what about the time that a look-alike imprisoned their near-twin in a wine cellar/abandoned mine/castle and then took over their life?

Do you remember how social media blasted the story as unrealistic? Do you remember rolling your eyes and saying that nothing like that happens in the real world? Did you friends or family members ridicule you for watching something so blatantly impossible?

Well, prepare to meet the real world in all of its unrealistic, blatantly impossible glory.

A Russian native from Brooklyn has been accused of poisoning her look-alike with a cheesecake and then stealing her identity and other property.

Yes, you read that right. The Associated Press reports that 42-year-old Viktoria Nasyrova visited the Queens, NY, home of her victim, another Russian-speaking woman, whose name is being withheld, bearing a cheesecake tainted with a tranquilizer.

The 35-year-old victim ate the cheesecake, became ill, and passed out. She was found the next day, unconscious in bed with pills strewn about her body as if she had tried to kill herself. The victim later realized her passport, employment card, a gold ring, and cash were missing.

If convicted, Nasyrova faces up to 25 years in prison.
