GH alum Amber Tamblyn speaks out against body shaming Donald Trump

Former General Hospital star Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Quartermaine) expresses her disgust with people body shaming Donald Trump.

General Hospital alum Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily Quartermaine) is making mainstream headlines for coming to the defense of presidential hopeful Donald Trump in quite an unusual way.

The outspoken actress took to social media to express her disgust with the life-size statues of a naked Donald Trump that have popped up in major U.S. cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York.

"Body shaming is never okay, even when it comes to Trump," Tamblyn wrote, pointing out, "These statues aren't art. This was an easy, lazy, unimaginative concept. Plus it's wholly unoriginal...stolen from Ilma Gore's painting of the exact same concept."

The Gore painting the actress references made headlines in April and featured Trump naked, as well. The current Trump artwork -- titled The Emperor Has No Balls -- is a play on the idiom "the emperor has no clothes" and was started by Anarchist group Indecline.

Tamblyn, who has received mixed reactions from fans about her controversial post, played GH's Emily Quartermaine from 1996 to 1998 before moving on to shows like Joan of Arcadia, The Unusuals, House, Two and a Half Men, and Inside Amy Schumer.
