Morrison's world abruptly stops

It is a case of blink and you missed him.

After less than one month as As the World Turns' Adam Munson, newcomer Matthew J. Morrison (Adam Munson) has exited the show. The decision is said to be mutual, but the abruptness has caught many fans off guard.

According to an As the World Turns spokesperson, Morrison's exit was brought about by a "scheduling conflict." The spokesperson did not elaborate beyond that.

With Adam having been off-screen for several years, Adam returned at the end of October to coincide with the show's handling of writing off Hal, Adam's father. Actor Benjamin Hendrickson (Hal Munson) died earlier this year and the show's scribes waited until they could craft an appropriate storyline in order to address the actor's death.

His role on As the World Turns marked the first significant television role for the Tony-nominated Morrison.

Matt Cavenaugh will take over the role of Adam Munson on Wednesday, November 29.
